How to hook up a FOUR way fuel petcock / pump? By scooter (Read 2,379 times)

Ice Is Building Up Moisture inside refrigerant lines can contaminate the lines, causing your air conditioning unit to become sluggish. Refrigerant already in the lines combines with the moisture that enters the lines. The two gold-colored valves are located on the refrigerant lines, where the lines enter the condensing unit. Thread each valve onto its respective hose by turning the valve in a clockwise motion, just as you would thread a watering hose onto an outside water spigot. The left hose of the gauge attaches to the larger, low-pressure line’s service valve, while the right hose attaches to the smaller, high-pressure line’s service valve. The oil level should be at the fill line located on the sight glass; some pumps will have an “Oil Level” line. If it is not, add more oil. Thread it in a clockwise motion similar to Step 3. Switch the pump into the “On” position. Close each manifold valve and quickly shut off the vacuum pump.

These systems can be useful in any home, but are excellent for larger two or more story homes. Central vacuums can be installed in new constructions or be added to an existing home. You just need a reliable central Vac contractor in NYC to do the work. The following information will address the benefits of central vacuum systems. Back-Saving Solution Anyone who has ever lugged a vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs knows how back-breaking it can be even with lightweight vacuums.

It is more about the bulk than the weight, but heavier vacuums do create more problems if you have to haul them up and down stairs. If you have a bad back already, it is even more harmful and painful. Central vacuum systems save back problems.

I’ve seen the way they are manufactured, I’ve thought to myself, this could be made a lot better with this a bit thicker, or this with a metal support through there. If they were better built, they would be Hondas. I try not to worry about failures too much. They are easy and cheap to fix. So far I have had terrible luck with the CVT, mostly due to buying two of the worst made belts ever and possibly a factory reject variator. I have also replaced two broken spark plug boots and a kill switch that started sticking after just a few months.

To install a central vacuum you: Begin by locating and installing the power unit in the basement, garage, or another out-of-the-way place. Then you install inlet valves, strategically located throughout the home in wall-mounted (or sometimes floor) receptacles.

Installing a Dust Collection System How to set up your system Construct a central system So you’ve bought a dust collector. Now, you must hook it up to your shop equipment. Here are some hints and tips to help you accomplish that more smoothly. A central dust collection system provides the most convenient means for connecting a dust collector to several pieces of equipment.

The illustration shows a typical system. Plastic pipe and fittings make installation relatively easy. Here are some pointers for constructing your system: Fasten joints with screws rather than glue so you can open the system easily to dislodge jams. Run a 5″-6″-diameter line to your heaviest chip-producers—planer, jointer, etc. A 4″ line will adequately serve saws, sanders, and the like. Air and wood particles moving through the dust collection system quickly build up static electricity charges in any nonconductive hose or piping hose or piping not made of metal.

When this static buildup discharges, it could lightly shock the operator or even ignite the flammable wood dust particles inside the piping. If the sawdust burns fast enough, you have an explosion.

October 18, , This information is specifically intended to help those doing a Cummins conversion, however I feel the information could be beneficial to anyone with an older Ram with a PCM, or who like me considers ‘wiring’ to be their nemesis. First, as you all know, these older-than-dirt computers are dying every day. The newest of them is now 20 years old.

A central vacuum system can be installed in both new and existing homes without any difficult labor. This guide will outline the necessary steps and procedures that should be taken to successfully install a whole house vacuum system in both an existing home and a new home being built.

Hello, This is my first post and I hope that no one will consider the nature of this post as soliciting DIY advice, if so, please feel free to protest or delete it. About 6 years ago, my neighbor offered me his BTU vertical window air condition as he was upgrading to central air. Rather than put it in my bedroom where it would block a major portion of my already small window and additionally generate noise, I decided have my local sheet metal shop build me a metal cover plate with two 8″ diameter takeoffs in it and attach this plate to the front of this vertical air conditioner.

I then parked the unit on my lawn outside my basement window and ran two 8″ flexible conduits through the basement window opening to holes in the floor and wall of my bedroom. With an electronic thermostat in the bedroom driving a 24 volt relay, the old air conditioner acquired a new life. A few years later my sister’s BTU Thru the Wall unit had its captube clog up and she decided to buy a new one rather than repair it.

I tied this second unit into my cental heating system using a motorized damper connected to the return cold air duct. Thus the furnace fan provided some extra suction back to the BTU unit parked outside on the lawn next to the BTU unit. An additional cfm blower drew air from both my basement and from the highest point in the house and fed this combined stream out to the BTU unit. My feeling is that any resistance to flow created by the 40 foot length of flexible ducts was compensated by the external assistance from the furnace fan and extra blower.

A second electronic thermostat located in my hallway was used to drive the BTU air conditioner. When required, both units were turned on for a total of BTUs of cooling and over the last few summers this has been adequate to provide comfort in my sq. As many of you know, the majority of heat recovery ventilators used in North America transfer energy between the two streams using a conductive passive core made out of metal or plastic.

A 6, hour commercial pilot and CFI with airplane, instrument and multiengine ratings, Mike has been flying for 36 years and an aircraft owner for For the past 14 of those years, he’s owned and flown a Cessna T R turbocharged twin, which he maintains himself. Most small aircraft depend on air-driven gyro instruments powered by vacuum produced by an engine-driven air pump. The vacuum system is a simple one, and it should be reliable and trouble-free.

Too often, though, it isn’t. Figure 1 shows the vacuum system in a typical single-engine airplane.

What are Permanent Electrostatic Filters?

How to Vacuum an AC System by Ezmeralda Lee It is important to vacuum an air-conditioning system to remove any air or moisture that may damage the system in the long run. Moisture in the AC system is a serious problem, because moisture reduces the performance of the AC system and condensation of water can cause the AC system to freeze. Condensed water particles corrode the AC system and cause long-term damage.

Creating a vacuum deep enough to boil moisture away by using a vacuum pump on a regular basis is an effective, low-cost method of maintaining a healthy AC system. Pumps can be purchased or rented, if you don’t want to make a permanent investment. The pump hose should be attached to the low-pressure port of the refrigerant gauge.

All parts used in these pictorials are available at the diesel parts for sale page Mercedes Vacuum Troubleshooting Basics Vacuum, vacuum everywhere, or you wished it was. To many owners of the older Mercedes diesel cars, the vacuum system continues to be an amazing mystery. Full of weird components and even weirder operation of all kinds of stuff on the car. Well I am here to tell you today, it is not that complicated and mysterious. To be quite frank, vacuum systems are much easier to both understand and troubleshoot, than an electrical system is.

Mar 28,  · Best Answer: Well the 2 pipes hanging down in your basement is where your central vacuum unit will go. When your facing the 2 pipes the one on the left is your intake(the one that sucks throughout your house), the pipe on the right is your exhaust, which when connected blow out the excess noise, and quiets this : Resolved.

I paid bucks for ours at a flea market at a tractor show. The bearings were seized up and the motor was no good. Popped the pump apart and replace the bearings with a pair I bought for 20 bucks and found a 2 HP motor for it and we were in business. If you are looking at regular farm type pumps the most common type is the vane pump. Universal leads the pack in ease of repair, quietness, and cfm per HP Surge is OK and there are plenty of the old Alamo type pumps around. DeLaval and BouMatics are screamers and I would not bother with either of them although there are a lot of them out there as well.

You may find some older Surge and Universal piston type pumps and they are very quiet but I do not know how easy it is to get parts for them.
